Pattern Design + Construction:

Do you ever find yourself digging into a delicious pint of your favorite ice cream and your hands are just so cold?! I mean, who really wants to scoop the ice cream out into a bowl? And then, the bowl gets cold too...Thus, my inspiration for this quick and easy crochet ice cream cozy was born! These handmade ice cream holders make adorable gifts for a girl's or guy's night in! So let's whip some up so we can Netflix & chill.

Each crochet ice cream cozy is worked in the round with bulky yarn and only takes just a few rows, making it extremely beginner friendly and a great crochet gift idea. The finished ice cream sleeve measures approximately 4 inches tall and fits a standard-sized pint of ice cream. Pictured here for this tutorial, I've used a pint of Halo Top ice cream for sizing.

Yarn:

We'll be using some super soft Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn for this project. This is one of my favorite bulky yarn brands to work with. I like the variety of color options and availability at my local craft stores and online. This soft and bulky yarn creates a gorgeous texture and keeps your hands warm. Using quality bulky yarn makes this project work up so quickly.

This yarn is a super bulky weight category 6. You could easily substitute brands/colors as long as they are similar in ounces per gram.

  • Each skein is 6 oz./170g (106 yd/97 m)

I've used the following colors for this tutorial:

  • Oatmeal
