Easy Crochet Washcloth - Free Crochet Pattern

Hello, hi & welcome back! I'm excited to share my Easy Crochet Washcloth free crochet pattern! A set of handmade crochet washcloths makes an adorable and affordable gift idea! This is a quick and beginner-friendly crochet project.
Each washcloth is crocheted in rows with cotton yarn to create a rectangle, textured shape. The border is then added around the edges. Each washcloth measures approximately 8 inches by 10 inches. You could easily increase the size by using a larger crochet hook and thicker cotton yarn.

Yarn Colors:
I receive many questions regarding the specific yarn colors I use for my projects! Oftentimes, I use leftover colors in my yarn stash that I have lost the labels for or have acquired secondhand without labels, so I apologize if I cannot list them all each time! Below are the specific brands/colors I do know for this particular pattern!
I Love This Cotton Yarn in the color 'Dove'
Lily Sugar N Cream in the color 'Jute'
White (Sorry, I'm not sure!)
Stitches:
This pattern is written in US crochet terminology.
Chain
SC - Single Crochet
HDC- Half Double Crochet
Slip Stitch
Easy Crochet Washcloth - Free Crochet Pattern
Washcloth Base Crochet Pattern:
Chain 31
Row 1: SC in each stitch, chain 1 (30 stitches)
Rows 2-13: HDC in each stitch across alternating between the back loops only and front loops only, chain 1 (30 stitches)
Start each row with the back loop only and each row will end on a front loop only
Row 14: SC in each stitch, chain 1 (30 stitches)
Border:
Continue down the left side of your work with a row of HDC
Chain 1 at each corner.
Repeat so that you end with 2 complete rows of HDC around the entire washcloth.
After the last stitch, chain 1 and tie off pulling through the chain stitch to secure.
Weave in the ends and trim any excess yarn.
