Quick Crochet: Rustic Fall Coffee Sleeve (Crochet Tutorial)

Updated: Feb 5

Hello, hi, & welcome back! Today I'm excited to share my crochet pattern for this adorable Rustic Fall Coffee Sleeve! I am in love with these tiny burnt orange hearts and the sweater-weather vibe. This pattern works up really quick and makes the perfect fall-themed gift.

Materials (affiliate links):

Stitches:

  • Chain

  • SC - Single Crochet

  • HDC - Half Double Crochet

*This pattern is designed to fit a standard Starbucks reusable mug. You can easily adjust your chain stitch amount to fit the mug of your choice and increase or decrease the pattern by that amount. For instance, if 28 stitches fit around your mug you will chain 29 and each row will be 28 stitches.

Coffee Sleeve Base:

With cream, chain 35

Rows 1-2: SC in each stitch, chain 1 (34 stitches)

Row 3: SC in each stitch, chain 2 (34 stitches)

Row 4: HDC in each stitch, chain 2 (34 stitches)

Rows 5-9: HDC in each stitch (back stitches only), chain 2 (34 stitches)

Rows 10: HDC in each stitch (back stitches only), chain 1 (34 stitches)

Rows 11-13: SC in each stitch, chain 1 (34 stitches)

Tie off with a long tail and pull through the chain to secure

Tiny Hearts:

Using a yarn needle and burnt orange yarn, add 11 little hearts to the top and the bottom of your coffee sleeve. Since we have three rows of SC at the top and bottom, this provides the perfect little space to create the hearts.

I think about them as 'V's; I put two stitches through each side (not too tight) and continue on without tying off until the end of the row.

Start each top left of the V two stitches from the last top right of the previous V

Assembly:

With the right side facing in (hearts turned to the inside), use a yarn needle and the long tail to stitch the rough ends together. Tie off and trim any excess yarn. Turn right side out!
