This Crochet Easter Egg Garland is a free pattern on my blog!

Pattern Design + Construction:

Garlands are one of my favorite holiday crochet projects to design. They're a quick and easy way to add a handmade, affordable and festive touch of holiday décor to any space. This pattern is so versatile! These crochet Easter eggs are adorable hung as bunting over the buffet or mantle. They're also the perfect size for Easter crochet coasters, ornaments or cute little gift tag accessories!

Using only basic stitches makes this project perfect for beginners! Each Crochet Easter Egg is worked in rows of single crochet to create a flat egg shape. A single crochet border is added to the outside of the egg and the embellishments are created using a tapestry needle and colorful strands of yarn. The finished Easter Eggs measure approximately 5-6" tall and 4" wide. You could easily increase the size by using a larger crochet hook and bulkier yarn.

Yarn:

For this free pattern, we'll be using medium (4) worsted weight yarn. I really enjoy using worsted weight yarn for most of my projects because of the versatility as well as the availability in most craft stores. Worsted weight yarn also tends to come in very affordable brands. You can easily substitute with other brands and colors as long as the ounces per gram are similar. I've used the following for this project:

For this project, I'm using the following yarn colors:

  • Red Heart Super Saver, Medium 4, 7 oz / 198 g, in the color Bright Yellow

  • Red Heart Super Saver, Medium 4, 7 oz / 198 g, in the color Minty

  • Red Heart Super Saver, Medium 4, 7 oz / 198 g, in the color Lavender

  • Red Heart Super Saver, Medium 4, 7 oz / 198 g, in the color Flamingo
