Easter Egg Garland - Free Crochet Pattern

Updated: Feb 23

Hello, hi & welcome back! I'm excited to share my Easter Egg Garland Free Crochet Pattern! These also make cute Easter Ornaments! These crochet Easter Eggs are super quick and easy to whip up and make the perfect festive addition to your Easter party decor or hung over the buffet or mantle! Feel free to get creative with your embellishments and colors!

The finished Easter Eggs measure approximately 5-6" tall and 4" wide and are crocheted in one solid piece with embellishments and border added separately. You could easily increase the size by using larger yarn and a larger crochet hook.

Easter Egg Embellishments - CHEVRON & DASHES:

This is my favorite version of the Easter Egg Garland!

  • Using a tapestry needle, stitch 4 rows of a zig-zag pattern across the egg.

  • Then with a different color, stitch 3 rows of little 'dashes' in between the chevron rows!

  • Tie off on the back side, trim any excess yarn.

Border:

We're going to create a border around the egg to clean up the edges.

I chose to create my borders with a different color than the egg base.

  • Join to the egg in the bottom right corner and SC until you've created a border around the entire egg.

  • Slip stitch into the first stitch of the border.

  • Chain 1, tie off pulling through the chain stitch to secure.

  • Weave in loose ends and trim any excess yarn.

I hope you have enjoyed creating with me!
