Pattern Design + Construction:
This crochet Mini Bear can also be adapted into an adorable bag charm. The bear is crocheted in continuous rounds. The only needle work is the mouth and weaving in the tails.
The Finished Mini Bear Measures Approximately:
3" tall x 2" wide

This pattern is written in US crochet terminology.
Chain
Magic Circle (Tutorial)
SC - Single Crochet
INC - Single Crochet Increase
DEC - Single Crochet Decrease/ Invisible Decrease
BLO - Back Loop Only
FLO - Front Loop Only
BO - Bobble Stitch
Slip Stitch
* - Repeat sequence until the end of the round
Bobble Stitch Tutorial:
For this pattern, the bobble stitch is 5 unfinished DC in the same stitch.
All of the following into the same stitch:
We already have a loop on the hook (Loop Count 1)
Yarnover, insert hook, pull up a loop, yarnover, pull through two (Loop Count 2)
Yarnover, insert hook, pull up a loop, yarnover, pull through two (Loop Count 3)
Yarnover, insert hook, pull up a loop, yarnover, pull through two (Loop Count 4)
Yarnover, insert hook, pull up a loop, yarnover, pull through two (Loop Count 5)
yarn over, insert hook, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through two (Loop Count 6)
Yarnover, pull through all 6 loops
Crochet Mini Bear (No Sew | Bag Charm) - Free Pattern
Round 1: In a magic circle, SC 6, pull tight (6)
Round 2: INC in each stitch (12)
Round 3: (INC, SC)* (18)
Round 4: SC 3, FLO BO, SC 8, FLO BO, SC 5 (18)

Rounds 5-8: SC in each stitch (18)
Round 9: (DEC, SC)* (12)
Round 10: FLO SC in each stitch (12)
With the stitch marker on the back side of the work, Add face and stuffing
Eye Placement: Between Rounds 5 & 6; 2 stitches in between
Mouth: Using embroidery floss, stitch a capital letter T

Round 11: (INC, SC)* (18)
Round 12: SC 8, FLO BO, SC 4, FLO BO, SC 4 (18)

Rounds 13-15: SC in each stitch (18)
Round 16: SC 3, FLO BO, SC 5, FLO BO, SC 5, FLO BO, SC 2 (18)

Round 17: DEC 9 times (9)
Add final stuffing
Round 18: SC, DEC 4 times (5)
Chain 1, tie off

Using a yarn needle and the tail, close up any remaining hole and weave in the end.


Scarf
Using the yarn colors of your choice
Chain 41
Row 1: Slip stitch into each stitch (40)
Chain 1, tie off and weave in the tails

Bag Charm/Keychain
Using the yarn color of your choice,
Place a slip knot on your hook and join on the back side of Round 1 with a slip stitch.
Chain 40
Slip stitch again into the stitch where you began.
Chain 1, tie off and weave in the ends.
You can adjust the size of the hanger by increasing or decreasing the chain stitches.

And here we have an adorable Crochet Mini Bear! Feel free to get creative with the colors, the face, and the bag charm variations. These little bears are perfect as rear-view mirror car hangers or backpack buddies. As you can see, they whip up quickly so you could easily gift them as well.
