This quick amigurumi can also be adapted into an adorable bag charm or keychain. The crochet pencil is worked in continuous rounds with the face and stuffing added before completion. The only needle work is the mouth and weaving in the tails.
The finished project measures approximately 4" tall. You could easily make a larger pencil by increasing your yarn and hook sizes.

Round 3: (INC, SC in the next stitch)* (18 stitches)
Round 4: BLO, SC in each stitch around (18 stitches)
Rounds 5-6: SC in each stitch around (18 stitches)
on the last stitch of the 6th round, switch to grey yarn
Optional: At this point, I like to add a cardboard circle the size of the eraser end inside the Amigurumi to keep the flat eraser shape. Cereal boxes are perfect for this.

on the last stitch of the 8th round, switch to yellow
Rounds 9-15: SC in each stitch around (18 stitches)
on the last stitch of the 15th round, switch to cream
Add safety eyes and mouth.
Eye Placement - Between the 3rd & 4th yellow round, 3 stitches in between
Eyelashes & Mouth - Using 3 strands of embroidery floss

Round 16: (SC, DEC)* (12 stitches)
Round 17: SC in each stitch around (12 stitches)
Add stuffing.

Round 18: (SC, DEC)* (8 stitches)

Round 19: SC in each stitch around (8 stitches)
Add any last stuffing.
Round 20: DEC 4 times (4)
Chain 1, tie off with a long enough tail to weave in.
Using a yarn needle and the tail, close up any remaining hole and weave in the end.

Bag Charm
Using the yarn color of your choice,
Place a slip knot on your hook and join on the back side of Round 1 with a slip stitch.
Chain 40
Slip stitch again into the stitch where you began.
Chain 1, tie off and weave in the ends.
You can adjust the size of the hanger by increasing or decreasing the chain stitches.
